Turning 25

img_5500This Sunday I will be turing 25 years old. 25 YEARS OLD! Where has the time gone?? I can’t believe it has already been 7 years since I’ve been out of high school. And man, does that make me feel old! Jesus and I drove by a high school a while back when the kids were being let out, and when we saw them, we couldn’t imagine that we were ever that tiny! 18 year-olds look like babies to us and I couldn’t help but reminisce about how at that age, I thought I knew a lot, but as it turns out, I didn’t know squat about life.

Since I graduated from high school, so much has occurred to me. So much learning and new life events have happened. I used to think I knew what I wanted but I didn’t even end up choosing a career that I thought I would end up in. It is crazy to think about how everything I had planned for myself, didn’t end up happening, but I am happy at where I am at now. I can’t imagine living a different life because of it. Although, I hate to be turning a year older, I know there is still so much that I have left to learn and to achieve in my life and I am excited for what is still left to come. So here’s to another year of life!

So, with my birthday coming up, I wanted to share my birthday outfit that I have been so excited to show you all! I was having the hardest time finding a birthday outfit because I was being more picky than usual. I knew what I didn’t want, but I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for at the same time, if that even makes any sense? I knew I didn’t want anything black or navy because I wear the two colors way too often but I did know I wanted a dress!

Since I narrowed it down to wearning a dress, I had to think about what kind of dress I wanted. Jesus loves to see me in a bodycon dress, but like any other woman, I’m self conscious about my body. (Yes! I’m normal!) It takes a lot for me to love a bodycon dress because I’m not entirely comfortable in a tight-fit dress. So I looked for a dress that wouldn’t make me feel so self-conscious about myself, but that was beautiful, flowy, and had a Spring look to it!

It took me two days to find the PERFECT dress, but I FINALLY found it!

Low and Behold, this beauty was waiting for me inside Anthropologie! As soon as I walked through the store and laid my eyes on it, I knew I just had to try it on! What was even more crazy was that when I tried it on, it fit like a glove! Being petite and finding something that fits like a glove, comes far and in-between! So I knew I loved the dress but I had to get the final stamp of approval from Jesus. Y’all may not know this but Jesus helps me to pick out all of my clothes. He encourages me to get clothes that I never would think of buying and tells me how great I look in them (yes, he’s the best!) and I end up falling in love with the outfits just like him! He usually knows what I want before I even know that I want it. So when I walked out of the dressing room with this dress on, he was like “THIS IS IT!” and I couldn’t have agreed more!

What I love about this dress is that it’s tight on the top and through the waist but not too tight to where it makes me feel uncomfortable. Then, I fell in love with the printed flower designs on the skirt of the dress and how it also has just the right pops of color in it!

After buying the dress, I knew immediately that I wanted a pair of red sandal heels to wear with it but I didn’t own any so I had to go search for some. (Not sure if that was just an excuse to go shoe shopping or if I really needed them, either way, I think it is the latter.) I ended up going to Dillard’s and found these amazing Gianni Bini heels!

The bright red color of the heels and the fact that it was a block heel is what won me over! If you haven’t owned a block-heel yet, then you should. They are seriously WAY easier to walk in compared to skinnier heels! I loved how comfortable these heels felt and knew they were something I could wear for hours on my birthday!

So there’s my birthday outfit. I hope you were just as excited to see it, as I was about showing it to you! Thankfully, when my birthday comes around, Jesus allows me to pamper myself all day. (How did I get SO lucky?!?) On my birthday, I will be getting a mani and pedi at MiniLuxe. If you haven’t tried them, they are seriously amazing and have an impeccably clean store! I am also planning on trying out the drybar for the very first time and getting an Uptini from them! I’ve heard so many great stuff about them so I am SO excited to try them out! I will be ending the day with a birthday dinner in Dallas with friends and family! So, follow me on my instastories (on March 12th) to see all the awesome birthday festivities! My instagram account should be shown on the ride side of this post. Just click on an image from my instagram account and it should take you right to my IG!

Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to leave a comment! I would love to hear what you guys think!

Much Love,

Stevie

P.S. These are the earrings I plan on wearing with this outfit. I just hadn’t purchased them prior to taking these pictures. Also, I had to create these using their Color Bar in store!

  1. I wish you a very Happy Birthday for Sunday, hope your day is filled with happiness and for many years to come. Lovely outfit also. I’m also turning 25 this year in April and it feels so surreal especially when I look back and see that I left my school 9 years ago, makes me feel old.

  2. Happy birthday for sunday! You look beautiful in these photos, that dress is stunning! And I’m also slightly obsessed with your shoes… And I totally get what you mean about 18 year olds seeming so young, I’m only 21 and it seems a lifetime ago!
